I felt full and happy . It's a small place so if you need to book in advance I would do so! If I could go every week I would...

I've been coming here since they've opened and they've always served fresh sashimi for a reasonable price. The only con is they don't have a lot of choices for hot food.

Most authentic japanese restaurant in Richmond. Easily some of the best sushi I've ever had. Expensive, but worth it

Favorite traditional sushi place in Richmond and value for dollar showcases it sheds the fancy nameplate for a very subdued and quality driven experience. The assorted sushi set at 38 (2024) showcases local and Japanese imported fish, fresh and well portioned for each piece to be eaten in one bite, non lock-jawing bite. The saba battera is a little different than other restaurants since it showcases much more redness and has a lot more fish flavor. Some may be a little overwhelmed so try if you truly like Saba :), but dive in if you love it. Other standouts are the ankimo and tako wasabi and their uni tasted really good too (not sandy nor bitter). I really enjoy the intimacy in which it feels to dine here. Run by the same couple for years, I hope to experience many more.

Everything was fantastic. Hadn't visited since the pandemic, and I was incredibly satisfied with the quality and service. The unagi nigiri and chutoro were the highlights of the meal, in addition to the chef's choice sashimi and nigiri plates. Sushi Hachi has been in my top 3 for 15 years.

Sushi Hachi continues to be a gem I return to time and again when I'm in Richmond. The food is simple, fresh and tastes like Japan. If you enjoy the occasional pungent umami punch, ask for the ika shiokara (fermented squid guts). Call for reservations.

Outstanding sushi! The taste and freshness of the fish is comparable to literally being at the fish market in Japan! Every piece was splendid making this restaurant easily one of the best authentic sushi restaurants in Richmond. Even their miso soup was elevated with real fish meat and enhanced rich broth! So glad to have dined here and totally would come back, only you must make a reservation early because they are always fully booked due to popularity!

Excellent quality sushi and sashimi. The quality that you'd actually expect when you dine-in in Japan. There's only one server and could be little challenging to get her attention but she was very smooth and efficient. Make sure to make a reservation in advance as they have limited seating. My favourite sushi place in BC!
